Chapter 0701

Suzy followed the trail relentlessly, the scent leading her out of the police station and into a narrow, dimly lit

alleyway.

It was only when the scent began to fade that she stopped.

The smell had dissipated, but there was no sign of anyone.

Standing in the middle of the alley, surrounded by darkness and suffocating stillness, Suzy let out a cold laugh.

Her voice, calm and steady, cut through the silence. "What's the matter? Afraid to show yourself?"

She was almost certain someone was nearby. The scent had been deliberately left to lure her here.

The quiet remained unbroken as if the world around her held its breath. Suzy spoke again, her tone laced with

disdain.

"Blaming everything on Claude and expectingto believe he's alive? No matter how well you imitate him, you

can fool others, but not me.

"If you really wantto believe you're Claude, then show yourself. Stand in front ofand letsee you with

my own eyes."

Her words hung in the air, met with the soppressive silence.

If the person had gone to such lengths to draw her here but refused to reveal themselves, then this wasn't about

confrontation.

It was about something else.

Just as Suzy's brows furrowed in thought, a voice cfrom the end of the alley. "Suzy, | can't believe you broke

out of jail!"

Suzy froze for a moment, her lips twitching in exasperation.

So that was the game.

She had assumed the mysterious figure wanted to declare war openly, but now it was clear-they wanted to

frher.

Already burdened with the suspicion of murder, now she had the added weight of an "escape" on her record.

It was a perfect setup, and no matter how much she tried to explain, no one would believe her.

Very well. They wanted her gone, and they were willing to stop at nothing to make it happen.

The news of Suzy's "escape" spread like wildfire the moment dawn broke.

Dylan, who had been monitoring the situation closely, saw the headlines. His eyes darkened with a chilling,

murderous intent. "Whoever's behind this won't stop until Suzy is dead."

Standing nearby, Desmond frowned.

"Exactly. It's clear they have a deep grudge against her. Their moves have been especially vicious lately.

"I asked Allen what we should do, and he said Suzy mentioned she had her own plan.

"I was inclined to believe her, too. After all, she's not just anyone. But now..." Desmond paused, his unease

evident.

"It feels like everything has spiraled completely out of our control."

Dylan's gaze darkened. "Go to the family estate and bring Grandma here."

"Madam Grace?" Desmond blinked, momentarily caught off guard.

"Is there sevent today that requires her presence? Sbanquet or something?"

Why else would Dylan suddenly want Grace brought over? And if there was an event, how could Desmond not

know about it?

Dylan shot him an exasperated look. "She's coming to see Suzy."

"Take Madam Grace to visit Mrs. Wright?" Desmond hesitated, voicing his

concern.

"| really don't think that's a good idea. Madam Grace is already worried enough. If

she sees Suzy in jail, it'll just upset her even more."

"Just do it. Stop wasting time," Dylan ordered firmly.

If Grace wasn't with him, Suzy would refuse to see him, just as she had every other day this week.

Bringing Grace along was a last resort, but a necessary one.

Besides, Grace had been asking about Suzy incessantly, calling repeatedly to check on her.

If not for the people keeping an eye on her, she might have already gone to the station herself.

"Miss Suzy, Mr. Wright is here to see you again," the officer informed her.

Suzy didn't even need to think about it. "I'm not seeing him."

"This time, he brought Madam Grace with him," the officer added.

Suzy frowned deeply. She had been under strict restrictions, forbidden from meeting anyone.

But, as usual, Dylan's influence could bend any rule. Few people dared refuse him anything.

Hearing that Grace was there, Suzy muttered under her breath, "Damn it."

Dylan clearly anticipated that she wouldn't agree to meet him, so he brought Grace as leverage. Suzy couldn't

avoid meeting her, no matter how much she wanted to.

As soon as Grace saw Suzy, she burst into tears.

"Suzy, how did things get to this point? It's all my fault. It's because | didn't protect you well enough. That's why

they were able to hurt you like this..."

Grace's guilt was genuine. She truly believed that if she had done more to shield Suzy, none of this would have

happened.
