Chapter 0707
Asking Dylan to persuade Grace was futile. Everyone in the Wright family knew how stubborn she was.
Once she made up her mind, no one could change it, especially when it involved Suzy.
"Suzy," Dylan said, locking his eyes onto hers.
"Do you really think | can convince Grandma to stop worrying about you? That's impossible.
"Her care for you goes beyond anything | could influence. She cares about you more than she does aboutor
Diana.
"To her, you're closer than her own granddaughter. You don't even know how worried she was when she found
out you were arrested. She wanted to rush to the prison herself to get you out. | was the one who stopped her."
"That's exactly why | don't want her to suffer even the slightest bit because of me!" Suzy's brows furrowed
deeply.
"She's already in her eighties. | just want her to live a peaceful, healthy, and long life."
"Do you think | don't want that too?" Dylan's sharp brows knit together as he stared at her.

you, Grandma, and everyone else can finally be safe."
"It's not that easy to find them," Suzy said with a bitter smile.
"Dylan, do you know something? I've never been afraid of anything before, but now... | am.
"Elliot is still missing, and I'm terrified that something could happen to you, Grandma, or Diana. Don't you get
it?"
Suzy had always thought herself fearless, someone untouchable by fear.
But now... now, she was truly afraid.
"The poison you were exposed to before wasn't as harmless as | made it sound," she admitted, her voice low.
"Even though we neutralized it in time, the aftereffects are severe. Your recent allergic reaction was just the
mildest symptom. There could be more complications later on..."
She fixed her gaze on Dylan, her eyes unflinching.
"I've already hurt you once. | don't want to hurt you a second time. You're just an ordinary person, Dylan. You
only have one life."
Suzy said so much, yet Dylan latched onto one thing.
"Suzy, tellthe truth. Was it you who detoxifiedthat night?"
"It wasn't me!" Suzy stared firmly into Dylan's eyes. "I've told you this countless times, but you refuse to believe
me. Fine, I'll say it one last tit really wasn't me!
"If you think about it rationally, you'd realize there's no way | would've saved you. I've been doing everything |
can to cut ties with you, so why would I go out of my way to do something like that?
"It really was that woman from that night who helped you. If you still don't believe me, then investigate it
yourself again!
"In fact, I'll message Allen in a moment and have him bring that woman to you. If you have any doubts, you can
ask her directly. I'm sure she'll give you all the answers you're looking for."
After Suzy said all this, Dylan responded with just one sentence, "You should go take a bath. Grandma will
probably cupstairs soon to call us for dinner."
"Dylan..."
Suzy wanted to say more, but before she could get the words out, Dylan grabbed her arm and pulled her into his

Without warning, he silenced her with a kiss.
Suzy was speechless.
That infuriating man! He actually resorted to this!
Suzy tried to push him away, but he was unyielding, as immovable as a mountain.
No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't escape his grasp and had no choice but to let him do as he pleased.
By the tthe kiss ended, Suzy felt as if all the strength had been drained from her body. She slumped weakly
against his chest, gasping for air.
