Chapter 124 A Future Void of Children Fiona's voice rang out, her excitement palpable. "An email from Nathan!" she declared, her words directed at Mr. Davis. "Penelope is still in contact with him!" A wave of dread washed over Penelope, the room seeming to spin around her. Cold sweat broke out on her back, a physical manifestation of her fear.

The email was indeed from Nathan.

What was she to do now? A dangerous glint flickered in Kelvin's eyes as he bellowed, "Penelope Anne Winton!" He snatched the phone from Fiona's grasp, his eyes scanning the email's contents. "Everything is great here, Minnie. Hope you're doing well. I miss you so much, can't wait to be back." Kelvin's grip tightened on the phone, his knuckles turning white. In a fit of anger, he threw the phone, the screen shattering with a loud crack. Penelope gasped, taken aback. She hadn't even had the chance to read the email. Fiona, on the other hand, seemed to revel in the scene. Penelope had unwittingly exposed her secret communication with her ex-fiancé. "Mr. Davis," Fiona began, her tone pointed, "what else is she capable of? She bears a child out of wedlock, keeps in touch with an ex. In the old days, women like her would have been publicly shamed!" Penelope opened her mouth to retaliate, but no words came. She stood there, silent and defeated.

Kelvin, too, remained silent. He strode forward, his grip firm on her wrist as he led her towards the car.

"Mr. Davis!" Fiona called after him, her plea desperate. "Giveanother chance! I love you. I've never betrayed you. I've only ever been yours!" Kelvin, however, seemed not to hear her. His rage had consumed him, his actions devoid of rationality. He practically threw Penelope into the car.

"Mr. Davis," the driver asked, his voice trembling, "where to now...?" "The hospital." Penelope, still reeling from the sudden turn of events, stiffened at the word "hospital." Her papnis unidazerin tar "Kevin! What are you planning to do?" she demanded.

His lips curled into a cruel smirk. "What do you think?" Penelope was momentarily blinded by fear. It took several seconds for her vision to clear.

She never wanted to experience this level of terror again.

"No, please... don't..." She clutched her abdomen, recoiling until her back hit the car door.

"You can't escape," Kelvin stated, his voice devoid of emotion. "Penelope, only when this child is gone can we truly start over." "I never thought of starting over with you!" "But I did," Kelvin responded. "I told you last night that I will love you in my way." Penelope shook her head, terrified. "This isn't love!" "If I say it is, then it is." His word was law-no one could contest it.

Penelope's complexion turned deathly pale.

"This kid sure is stubborn, but sadly, it shouldn't have cinto this world." Kelvin's lips pursed. "Penelope, it's only without it that we can have a future." "Without this child, I won't have a future!" He smiled confidently. "I will make sure you do." "Kelvin... how could you love me? You can't possibly love me. Please, stop joking-it's not funny at all... We can't start over. I'm the daughter of your enemy, there's a sea of bad blood between us. How could there be love?" Kelvin replied, "Hatred is hatred, love is love." They didn't have to be mutually exclusive. He could detest her family, yet cherish her.

Despair and fear engulfed Penelope. She realized... Kelvin was determined to terminate her pregnancy! No! "I won't go to the hospital; I refuse!" Penelope frantically pounded on the driver's seat. "Pull over, letout! Stop the car!" The driver sneaked a glance at Kelvin.

"Don't you dare stop!" "Yes, yes..." said the driver as the car kept moving forward.

Penelope gritted her teeth and swiftly turned to open the car door. Just as she reached for the handle, about to open it, Kelvin's arm wrapped around her waist, and his other hand relocked the door! "Penelope, are you trying to get yourself killed?" "I'm not going to the hospital!" she stated again, "If you won't stop the car, I'll just have to jump out!" Kelvin snapped, "Do you think a jump like that is going to save your child? You wouldn't even save yourself!" "I know... letleap out with my child then. Better to die that way than to lie on an operating table in the hospital, forced to watch the termination proceed!" He caressed her face gently, "How could I bear to let you die? Sit still." Kelvin then lifted Penelope onto his lap. Trapped in his embrace, she couldn't move, forced to lean against him.

He smelled faintly of cologne, his tie was perfectly knotted, and his shirt collar was immaculate.

So neatly dressed, yet he intended to commit such a cruel act...

Penelope felt defeated." Kelvin..." she called his name.

"Mhm?" "Can you spare this child, please?" "No." He denied flatly.

Penelope pleaded, "If you just lethave this child, I'll agree to any other condition.

I'll go wherever you want, do whatever you say; I'll even stay by your side willingly for the rest of my life... Please?"

Her child had narrowly escaped death so many times, determinedly holding onto life. And now... was it going to end at Kelvin's hands? She couldn't bear it! "Why the tears," Kelvin said, lifting his hand to gently wipe them away, "I won't harm you." "But..." "Let's pretend this child never existed, as if... that man never entered your life." Penelope shook her head gently, "I can't do that..." That night was her first time.

That night, the man had promised to marry her.

Kelvin's hand, drying the tears from her eyes, paused abruptly and then slid down to cup her chin. her chin. "Penelope, I don't care that you had a fiancé or that you're carrying another man's baby. I'm willing to be with you regardless. And yet, you're tellingthere's something you can't do?" What can't she do? Playing coy after getting a sweet deal! It was the first the had compromised so much for a woman. And what was the result? Penelope remained ungrateful! But it was this very nature of Penelope that made him fall for her!
