Chapter 170 Penelope, Farewell.
"Hold on, Kelvin. The ambulance will be here soon," Penelope murmured. "Just do it for me, okay? Don't fall asleep. Hold on." She was so afraid.
Kelvin wanted to raise his hand to wipe away her tears, but he didn't have the strength. If he could keep this hand, it would already be considered lucky...
Penelope held onto him, lowering her head against his cheek, wishing to stay close to him.
"Why are you so foolish... Why? Fiona made you hurt yourself, and you did as she asked! You even pulled out the knife directly from your arm. Aren't you afraid of losing too much blood? Do you still need that hand? Kelvin, listen to me. If your arm becomes useless, I will despise you! Do you hear me?" she chided.
"You must, you must get better..." she pleaded, gently.
A smile tugged at the corner of his lips, slowly closing his eyes again.
"Penelope..." Each word he spoke was difficult and slow. "Stay well, alive, live on..." After saying this, Kelvin closed his eyes, and his hand fell.
"Kelvin!!!" Penelope's voice pierced through the night.
The ambulance roared when it arrived. Nurses lifted Kelvin onto the ambulance, and Penelope followed. "I am his wife, I am family! Letcalong!" she demanded.

As she mulled over it, tears suddenly fell again.
Did he arrange and prepare it all before he cto save her? Seemingly alone to confront Fiona, to lower her guard while secretly having his bodyguards on standby, to have them rush in at the critical moment.
And then, he faced the danger inside, while Timothy assisted from outside. Kelvin covertly coordinated with his team. He meticulously thought out every detail.
"You could have completely protected yourself and had no problems at all, but because of me..." Penelope couldn't continue with the rest of her words.
The love of the devil was torture, but it was also selfless dedication.
The doctor disinfected the wound and stopped the bleeding from Kelvin's arm. Clumps of bloodied cotton were thrown into the trash, a chilling sight.
At the hospital, doctors and nurses directly pushed Kelvin into the operating room. The door clicked shut. Penelope's legs becweak, and she fell at the entrance of the operating room. By now, dawn was approaching.
"Kelvin, you have to be okay. You must, must keep your hand..." Penelope pleaded continuously.
"Why are you on the floor?" a nurse passing by asked, helping Penelope up and noticing the blood on her body, was startled. "Where are you injured? There is so much blood..." "It's not my blood, it's..." Penelope paused. "It's my husband's." The dried blood stains on her clothes were all from Kelvin.
'How could one person bleed so much...' she wondered.
"But you are injured too," the nurse said. "Your face and neck..." Penelope then remembered that Fiona's knife had also cut her. She touched her face. "It's just a small wound, it's fine," she said.
"I've never seen a girl say the cut on her face is fine," the nurse pulled her. "They would make a fuss even over a pimple, but you have such a long cut. You need stitches to prevent scarring!" "But I..." Penelope hesitated.
"Let's take care of your injury first!" Under the nurse's firm demand, Penelope sat in the emergency room while the doctor carefully bandaged her wounds.
"The one on your neck is fine, but on your face..." the doctor's expression was troubled. "It might scar." "Please finish it quickly, doctor. I have other matters to deal with," Penelope requested, impatiently.

Penelope was extremely anxious. She only wanted to stay by the door of the operating room and wait for news about Kelvin. But the doctor and nurse would not allow her to leave.
Monica finally appeared and asked, "Penelope! Are you okay? Why is there so much blood?!" "I'm fine. How is Kelvin doing?" Penelope asked.
"Timothy said he is still in surgery, don't worry," Monica replied, looking worried. "I rushed over as soon as I heard the news. How could such a dangerous thing happen suddenly!" Penelope hung her head. "It's a long story," she mumbled.
"Your face..." Monica was alarmed.
"Minnie, I've only ruined my appearance. It's not that bad," Penelope replied. "Compared to Kelvin... his hand..." She couldn't continue. Her voice choked with sobs.
Monica tightly held her hand. "It will be all right. Everything will be fine. You won't be disfigured." Penelope didn't care about her face.

"Hey, you remember to cback to have the wound dressing changed, daily!" the doctor instructed but Penelope had already rushed out.
"Understood, doctor," Monica responded. "I will make sure she follows through!" After saying that, Monica quickly caught up with Penelope.
Penelope returned to the door of the operating room, where Timothy was already standing. "How is the situation?" she asked. "Has the doctor cout?"

"There have been no updates, and the surgery is still ongoing," Penelope said. Hearing this, Penelope bit her lip until it turned pale. "You look injured," Timothy remarked. "When Kelvin sees you, you won't know how much he hurts." "He will see me. He will," Penelope reassured.
"Don't worry. We have hired the best surgeon in LA for the operation," Timothy said.
Penelope clasped her hands together as if in prayer, saying, "His hand must be preserved at all costs." Timothy was puzzled, he asked, "How did Kelvin get so badly hurt? Fiona, a mere woman, couldn't possibly have had such skill." Only Penelope knew what had truly happened at the time. She recalled horrifying scenes from that moment, it still haunted her.
"He inflicted the injury upon himself," Penelope muttered. "If he didn't want to, who could harm him? Who would have been capable?" "He did it to himself?" Timothy asked, bewildered.
"He hurt himself?" Monica echoed.
Both were dumbfounded.
"Fiona heldhostage. She first injured my neck and then slashed my face... Kelvin
was afraid that she would harmfurther, so he suggested using himself as a bargain for my release. But Fiona was worried that she would not be able to control him, so she made him injure himself as a condition for the trade. "So, Kelvin stabbed himself with a knife on his arm, causing it to bleed a lot.
"During the exchange, Fiona pushedaside and prepared to take Kelvin hostage. But he pulled the knife directly out of his arm!" As Penelope described the scene, Timothy and Monica were completely stunned.
