Chapter 183 Kelvin Moved Too Fast If Kelvin still had to search, Penelope could stay hidden.
"Grandpa Davis sent her away. Wouldn't it be easy for Kelvin to find out where she is?" Monica sighed heavily.
A plane streaked across the sky, fading into the distance.
In an American estate, Penelope stood by the window.
It was daytime, the sky clear, but she knew it was night in LA.
She didn't know exactly where she was - all she knew was she couldn't leave the estate.
The servants were black foreigners, discreet in their work, and she had nothing to say to them.
"Was there really no way to escape? No..." Penelope muttered to herself, "I've just jumped from one cage into another." Spending a lifethere was not what she wanted.
It may be tto negotiate with Grandpa Davis.
Penelope turned and was about to reach for the landline when a shadow flickered outside the window.
"Who's there?" She peered out, but the figure had vanished.
A chill went down her spine as she watched the window intently.
Approaching slowly, just as she was about to lock it, her mouth was abruptly covered.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtHer eyes widened.
"Miss Cooper, no harm meant," the agile figure in black spoke up, "Mr. Walker has sent me." Brandon? The figure said, "If you could, please, don't scream. Blink if you understand." Penelope blinked immediately.
The figure in black let go and stepped back, "I'm truly sorry." "How did Brandon know I was here?" Penelope inquired, "Did he say anything else?" The man in black informed, "Mr. Walker's instructions were to assist you. Whatever trouble you're in, tell me, and I'll do everything I can to help." At every critical moment, Brandon always managed to appear just in time, rescuing her again and again.
The man in black spoke, "Mr. Walker said everything should revolve around what you want. If you decide to leave, then I'll figure out a way to get you out. If you choose to stay, he respects that too." Penelope didn't hesitate, "I want to leave." "There are a lot of people on guard outside. Letthink this through," he said, his face stern as he frowned in thought.
"Can I call Brandon?" Penelope asked.
The man in black replied, "Of course." Taking the cell phone from the man, Penelope felt a sense of solidity.
Soon, she heard Brandon's voice on the other end, "Hello?" "It's me," Penelope said, "I didn't expect you to be the first to find me." Brandon explained, "Kelvin askedto look for you." "What?" she replied, surprised.
"Don't worry, I won't tell him where you are," Brandon reassured her. "Do you want to stay there or cback to LA?" Clutching the phone, Penelope's voice was tense, "It's my mother I can't leave behind. She's still comatose in the nursing home." There was a pause before Brandon said, "I can try to bring your mother to you." "Really?" Penelope said, in excitement.
Brandon clarified, "I can't make promises; Kelvin's not one to be underestimated. But I'll do my best." Penelope stated, "As long as my mother is with me, I surely won't go back to LA." She needed to find Nathan, to see the Davis family, and to collect evidence about what truly happened those years ago! "Do you... not feel any attachment to Kelvin?" Brandon asked.
Penelope paused.
Attachment? Maybe there was some, but as tpassed, she would gradually forget him.
Kelvin brought her nothing but pain.
Penelope was about to respond when the roar of a sports car erupted from downstairs.

A Lamborghini.
The car door opened, and the person who stepped out...
Was Kelvin! How could it be him? "Kelvin found this place so quickly..." Penelope's face turned pale.
Though she didn't want this escape, she knew Grandpa Davis's methods and arrangements were clever. Yet Kelvin had found her so swiftly.
Penelope couldn't help but wonder if she ever tried to leave Kelvin on her own in the future, would it even be possible? Could she ever escape his extensive reach? Kelvin was too fast.
"Miss Cooper, I must go now," said the man in black. "I can't risk being exposed." "All right." Penelope shielded the man in black as he slipped away, then drew the curtains closed, feigning as if nothing had happened.
Downstairs, footsteps thudded ominously.
With each step, it was as if they were marching on her heart.
Kelvin took the stairs two at a tin his haste to reach the top, eager to lay eyes on Penelope.
He had sat through a grueling flight for over ten hours and then driven for another two to get here.
Kelvin's lips were pressed tightly together as he gazed upon the bedroom door, drawing ever nearer.
Just as he reached the doorstep, suddenly, the door swung open from the inside. Penelope appeared before him. Their eyes met.
"Penelope," Kelvin asserted, pulling her into his embrace, "I've finally found you." A long-missed sense of security flooded Kelvin's entire being.

Thankfully, she was still there; he had found her.
Penelope caught Kelvin's scent and noticed the stubble on his chin-she seldom saw him looking so worn down.
Kelvin had cweathered and dusty, all for the sake of finding her.
"Kelvin..." Penelope asked, "Did you chere just for me?" Kelvin replied, "Yeah. I'm here to take you home." She leaned into his embrace, at a loss for words.
Had Kelvin arrived a few minutes later, she might have managed to leave with the man in black.
To escape the watchful eyes and control of the Davis family.
But fate is fickle.
Kelvin's timing was impeccable, and she couldn't escape his grasp.
"I'm taking you home," Kelvin said, his arms tightening, his chin resting on her shoulder, "And I won't let you out of my sight again." After a brief silence, Penelope asked, "What if I want to leave your sight?" Kelvin glared, "Penelope, don't say things like that; it makesangry." "I'm not just saying it to upset you. Why else would I be here?" she challenged.
"Grandpa already toldhe sent you abroad against your willy" Kelvin m replied. "Don't try to fool me." What? Grandpa Davis admitted it? After all the trouble of sending her away, he confessed so quickly to Kelvin.
What was Grandpa Davis thinking? "You always know how to say something that hurts me," Kelvin said. "Penelope, I know this tyou didn't choose to leave." "No," Penelope said, "I was willing, too."
"I'll just assyou're lying because I won't believe it." Kelvin gouldn't and wouldn believe it.
Penelope let out a soft laugh and said, "It's not like I've never I've never escaped before. It's just that each time, you're En: the one who catches me."
