"Silas, have you told the players on the list | gave you about the interview?" Maisie asks me. Shit! | forgot. She

gavethe list yesterday and | told her | was going to let them know that they had an interview, but | totally

forgot.

My mind has been occupied. | still cannot believe that Rosie has remembered something. She was starting to

give up on remembering anything, but that memory cout of nowhere surprising the two of us. That memory

gavehope, because it meant that | still had a chance. She might remember everything we once had, but |

don't know how she will react if she remembers. | don't know if she will chooseover Everest.

"I forgot, Maisie. Sorry." The last thing | care about is the whole social media thing. | have already helped her out

with a few tasks, but | can't just make my life revolve around what she wants to film. | get that the university has

given her this task, but social media isn't with is getting my teammates to film with her. "God, Silas," she groans.

"This can't be be postponed!"

simply forand the last thing | want to tire myse she exclaims. "Call them now please and see if they can

come, so | can film with them."

"Fine," | mumble and take my phone out of my duffle bag. Unfortunately, | only manage to get two of the players

to cto film with her. The other three are unavailable. One of them is studying for an important test, so he

didn't cto practice today. Another one is out with his With s girlfriend on a date and the third one is already

on his way hand can't make it back to film.

"Nash and Steven are the only ones who can make it," | deliver the news to her. She doesn't look thrilled at all. If

anything, | think she is about to kill me.

"Silas, this is important! They're the last group I'm supposed to film with and this video is supposed to be

published next Thursday! What am | supposed to do now?" She throws her hands in the air in frustration.

"I don't t know. Maybe postpone publishing it," | suggest, not knowing what else to do.

She looks atlike I'm the stupidest person in the world. "Fine! Postpone the gyou have next Friday!" she

"That can't happen!" | exclaim.

snaps.

"Exactly! And postponing the video can't happen either because it is supposed to be posted online Thursday

night before the game!"

"We

were doing just fine before you! | don't even understand the importance of your presence with us!" | angrily snap

at her. "We don't need your innovative ideas and the attention you're getting us. We were doing that before you

came, so maybe you should leave!" She stares atfor a moment, and | have a feeling that she is about to

punch me. "If you think I'm here because I love being among you, you're absolutely wrong! It is a task from the

university and part of my final project that | will not let your ruin! Own up to your goddamn mistakes, Silas,

instead of whining like a child." She storms away from me

takesa minute after she storms off to realize that she is totally right. I haven't been the nicest with her ever

since her arrival. | need to make it up to her. I'm not usually an asshole like that, especially towards somebody

who is trying to do their job right.

| shoot stexts to the guys, asking them if they can film the video tomorrow morning and it takes a lot of

convincing. Thankfully, I schedule everything with them.

It I need

sun,

to look for her to apologize for what | have said, but the thing is, | don't even know where she has gone. | try

calling hef, but obviously, she doesn't pick up.. Oct 20

I rush to the parking lot to look for her car. If | spot it, this means that she's still around and if she is, | can look

for her. Chapter 134 091%1 5"

| find her blue Ford Fiesta easily in the parking lot, but what | don't like is that she's inside it, crying her eyes out.

| hate being the reason behind a girl's tears.

Nervously, | approach her car and knock on her window. | think she has been lost in her own world because upon

knocking on her window, she literally jumps in her seat. When her eyes land on me, she looks relieved for a

second, probably because I'm someone she knows, then her mood quickly changes. | have a long way to go.

"Can we please talk?" | request, not sure if she can hearor not. She stares atfor she is plotting how to kill

a

couple of seconds and | wonder if

| watch as she deeply inhales and reaches for the door handle. | step away from the door, giving her space to

open it. She steps out of the car and folds her arms as she says, "What do you want?" "Apologize," | tell her.

"Why the sudden change

of heart?" Sarcasm coats her voice and she has every right to act this way.

"Listen, | promise I'm not a bad person. I really am sorry for how | spoke to you. | have been really stressed lately

and | took it out on you, but this isn't an excuse. | promise it won't happen again. The two teammates who said

that they could chave already arrived and T the others will be here in the morning at 9 to film their parts.

How does that sound?" | have no idea how long she needs to edit the video, but this is the best | could do.

"You managed to do that in the span of twenty minutes?" she asks with a smirk. Maybe she is lettingoff the

hook.

"Fifteen, to be exact," | reply with a shrug as | shove my hands in my pockets.

She stays silent for a few seconds, twirling her body slowly in quarter circles left and right, then a smile appears

on her lips. "You're forgiven, Cromwell," she says, making relief wash over me. "Thank you for being generous s

with your humble servant, Queen Maisie." | playfully bow, making her laugh. Come

on,

I have videos to film," she says as she heads back to the field and | follow her. | know that | don't have to stay

until she's done filming, but | don't want to leave her alone. Not after what | have done. Luckily, it doesn't take us

a lot a lot of tto film everything she wants. After the guys finish filming, they leave and Maisie starts

collecting her stuff.

"Since I'm basically your assistant, do you think I | get to to watch the video earlier?" | give her a cheeky smile,

making her roll her eyes.

"And here | thought you a giveany special treatment," | mybody else," she teases me.

"No, you're to wait until it's posted on the account like

"Did | break your heart?" she laughs and she puts on her backpack.

with a pout.

"No, it's already broken." My laugh is short because it's not real. I'm trying to lighten up my situation, but it's

hard to get over my heartbreak.

Although | have spent years hoping to date Rosie, | have always been scared of the possibility of getting my

heart broken or breaking her heart if we end up dating then eventually break up. One of my fears has cto

life. "And who broke your heart, pretty boy?" Maisie givesher full attention.

"It doesn't matter. Letwalk you to your car," | quickly change the subject.

"All right." She nods and we both head to the parking lot. I'm thankful that she doesn't pushto talk more.

"Have a good night, Maisie, and I'm sorry again for the way | treated you," | apologize again when we reach her

car.

"It's okay," she assures ine. "And Silas, if you ever want to talk about that heartbreak of yours, tell me. People

say I'm a good listener," "Thanks, Maisie." | close her car door and wave her goodbye before making my way to

the car.

Maybe if | keep myself busy with Maisie and her social media work, | can reduce the amount of t| spend

thinking about Rosie.
