Chapter 275

-Grayson's POV-

The force sent a fresh explosion of pain through my eyes and for a moment I couldn't see. Bubbles rushed from

my mouth as the impact knocked what little air I had left from my lungs. My back hit something hard-the hull of

the ship.

Dylan didn't stop. His claws raked down my side, slicing through fur and skin as he twisted his body, trying to

pushdeeper.

He was trying to drown me.

A growl rumbled in my chest, but the sound was lost in the water. My vision cback then, blurred and my

lungs were tightening.

I needed air. Now.

Dylan's claws dug into my shoulders, his weight forcingfurther down. The pressure built, my head pounding.

Black spots swam in my vision.

No.

I refused to die here.

| lashed out, my claws finding purchase in his side. | raked them deep, tearing through flesh. Blood bloomed in

the water, dark and curling like ink.

Dylan jerked, his grip faltering just enough-I took my chance.

| twisted, breaking free, and kicked off from the hull, surging upward toward the surface. The ocean fought to

keep me, the weight of it dragging at my limbs, but | forced myself through.

Almost there.

But Dylan was faster.

Something yanked at my leg. Hard.

A sharp, blinding pain shot throughas his jaws clamped down, teeth sinking into my flesh.

A snarl ripped through my throat, though it cout as nothing but a rush of bubbles. He pulled, dragging me

back down. The world above-the storm, the air, Ava-faded further away.

Rage and desperation surged through me. My instincts roared. Fight. Survive.

| twisted again, my claws striking wildly. One connected-his face.

Dylan's grip loosened for half a second.

I didn't waste it.

| kicked off his chest, pushing myself upward with every ounce of strength | had

left. My body screamed, my muscles burning, but | kept going.

Then-light.

| broke through.

Air rushed into my lungs as | gasped, coughing, spitting out saltwater. The wind howled, the rain a stinging

assault against my face.

But there was no tto recover.

The waves were relentless, tossinglike a ragdoll. The ship loomed in the distance, battered by the storm, but

still there. Still too far.

And Dylan... He wasn't finished.

He burst from the water behind me, his massive form crashing intobefore | could move. Teeth. Claws. Pure,

wild fury.

We hit the waves hard. Water filled my mouth, my throat, but I didn't care. | lashed out, my claws sinking into his

shoulder, holding him down this time.

Dylan thrashed, but | didn't let go.

If he wanted to dragunder-fine. But | was taking him with me.

We spun in the water, locked in a deadly fight as the storm raged on. Lightning flashed, illuminating the sheer

rage in Dylan's eyes.

"You think you've won?" His voice slithered into my mind. A dark, vicious growl. "You've only delayed the

inevitable."

| snarled, snapping my jaws, barely missing his throat, "You talk too much."

Dylan lunged.

I met him head-on.

We crashed together, bodies slamming into the waves as the storm tossed us like nothing more than pawns in a

much bigger war. Claws tore through fur, through skin, through muscle. Blood mixed with saltwater, the ocean

itself turning against

us.

| was stronger.

But he was desperate.

He kicked off my chest, sendingbackward into the waves. For half a second, I lost him in the chaos. The rain

blurred everything, the wind howling in my ears-

Then he was there.

Above me.

Teeth bared. Jaws wide.

Coming straight for my throat.

I had no tto think.

I ducked.

Dylan's teeth snapped closed on empty air, but the momentum sent us both under again.

The water swallowed us whole.

| twisted, fighting to get away, but his claws latched onto me. This time, he didn't

try to slash or tear-

He held on.

And then-he pulled

Down

Down

Deeper.

The pressure built, my ears ringing. My lungs screamed for air. The ship above becnothing but a shouder,

distorted by the dark, churning water.

No.

| thrashed, clawing at his grip, but Dylan was like a stone, dragginginto the

depths. His eyes glowed with a sick kind of triumph.

"This is where you end," His voice whispered through my skull. "The great Grayson Blackwood-just another body

lost to

the sea."

| snarled, fighting harder. Claws. Fangs. Anything to break free.

But the ocean was winning.

The storm above was nothing but a flicker of light now, a memory.

The darkness below was endless. Cold. Heavy,

And Dylan-he wasn't letting go.

My lungs burned. My vision blurred.

I was out of time.

And then the water around us twisted, churning with an unseen force. The thing moved-fast, deadly-but I didn't

care. My focus was on Dylan. On finishing this.

His eyes darted, sensing the movement just as | did-but too late. The water shifted, an unseen force building,

pressing in around us like the ocean itself had chosen a side. The pressure was sudden, violent, a current

spiraling through the depths like the breath of something ancient and angry. | felt it before it struck, before the

impact ripped through the water like a silent explosion. Dylan did too.

But there was no tto react.

The force slammed into him, a brutal collision that sent him reeling. His grip on me-so firm, so absolute just

moments ago -slipped. His claws, once digging into my skin, lost their hold as he staggered, his body twisting in

the current. For the first time, he wasn't in control. For the first time, he was vulnerable.

I used it.

Lightning cracked through my veins, my instincts sharpening to a single, lethal point. In that fleeting moment-

one heartbeat, one breath-I struck.

My fangs tore into his throat.

| didn't hesitate. | didn't stop.

1 bit down harder, sinking my teeth deeper, until | felt the dickening crunch of bone. The rush of blood came

fast, het and thick, staining the water around us, blooming like ink in the vast endless blue. Dylan's body

convulsed vintently. His claws scraped against me, weak now, frantic, but there was no real strength left in him.

No more fight

His wild, desperate eyes found mine.

And in them-I saw it.

Fear.

Raw. Real

The predator who had spent his life hunting, tormenting, killing-now knew.

He was losing.

No-he had already lost.

The ocean swirled around us, a silent witness to the end of him. I held him there,

unrelenting, watching as his body jerked once. Twice.

Then-stillness.

The fight bled out of him.

His mouth parted, a strangled sound escaping-but no words came. Just silence.

Just the flickering of his last breath, stolen by the water that had always been his

domain.

His eyes-still wide, still burning with the horror of his own downfall-locked onto mine one last time.

Then-he sank.

The ocean took him, claimed him, pulling him down into the abyss. His lifeless

body drifted, swallowed by the darkness, fading, fading—until he was nothing.

I watched.

Watched as the weight of him disappeared.

Watched as the water erased his presence like he had never existed at all.

And then | spoke, my voice quiet, yet carrying through the vastness of the sea.

"No one touches what's mine."

The words lingered and | knew without a doubt that he heard them as his last words before they dissolved into

the water, lost beneath the distant roar of the

storm above.

Then | turned.

Kicking toward the surface.

Leaving Dylan behind.
