Serena’s words left Master Vail speechless for a moment.

Master Vail understood why Serena was unwilling to take the blame for him, but the situation was now more

disciples of the Mystic Harmony Sect.

Master Vail, feeling down, couldn’t help but complain.

“Serena, let the master and apprentice handle this matter together… After a moment of silent, he added, “You

have a valid reason for not wanting to be the head… But if you didn’t want to take on the role, why didn’t you tell

me directly?”

“Not only that, but you also used the teacher’s name to bring all the Mystic Harmony Sect members to Aurous Hill

without his consent.

Isn’t that inappropriate?” Master Vail pointed out.

Serena replied with a hint of grievance, “Master, you’re the head of the Mystic Harmony Sect, but you abandoned

the sect and stayed in Aurous Hill alone.

The members have been eagerly awaiting your return.

I can’t tell them that you’ve given up on everyone, can I?”

“It’s like a mother remarrying… It’s a personal choice, but proper arrangements need to be made for the children

in the family.

If you just leave them alone, it’s only natural for the children to look for their own way,” she explained.

As soon as Master Vail heard this, he knew he couldn’t win the argument against Serena.

Feeling dejected, he sat in the passenger seat and sighed.

“Serena, Serena… You’ve made your teacher miserable…” he muttered.

Serena then brought up something he had never considered before.

“What is it?” Master Vail asked with a sigh.

Serena explained, “I know that Mr. Wade has great powers, and I also know that you really hope to get his

guidance.

But do you really need to give up your position as the head of Mystic Harmony Sect? Your prestige in the sect is

beyond any disciple’s reach.

If I tell them directly, it may cause some members to refuse to worship under Mr. Wade’s name out of their own

pride.

But if you come forward, they won’t dare to make any complaints.

Won’t that make the whole thing come to fruition? Why bother passing on the headship to me?”

Master Vail lamented, “In the end, it was a wrong step, a totally wrong step.”

He looked ashamed as he continued, “As your teacher, I told you before that the reason why I lost the medicine

cauldron was mainly due to your teacher’s impure motives… But there’s something else your teacher didn’t tell

you…”

Serena asked, “What is it?”

Master Vail lowered his head and spoke dejectedly, “At first, Master Wade wanted me to join his sect and be under

his guidance.

He even gave me an elixir to straighten my cultivation base, allowing me to break through to the Light Realm…”

“Light Realm?!” Serena exclaimed.

After stunned for a moment, Serena asked, “Master… You’re already at the Light Realm? Why didn’t you tell me last

time?”

Master Vail coughed awkwardly, unable to provide a satisfactory answer.

He grinned sheepishly and said, “Well, well, well… Back then, before you arrived, I had actually achieved the state

of Great Perfection of the Light Realm, as a teacher.

Master Wade had hoped that I would bring forth the martial arts mindset of Mystic Harmony Sect, and so he

treated me like a villain…”

“I, being a gentleman at heart, believed that Master Wade was trying to pry into the core secrets of the sect… So, I

politely declined Master Wade’s offer to be a teacher, using the excuse that I couldn’t be his master,” he confessed.

Serena looked puzzled and asked, “I don’t understand.

How does this relate to your cultivation? What about the relationship?”

“Well, my dear, it’s a big deal,” Master Vail sighed.

“When I declined Master Wade’s offer, I was, in a sense, being a bit of a villain.

I’ve been in charge for so many years, and it’s a bit unsatisfying for a teacher to serve under someone else.

So, I thought it would be better to show him that I still had many concerns about the Mystic Harmony Sect,” he

explained.

“As a teacher, what I really wanted was for Master Wade to see that I was not an expendable asset.

If he thought a teacher was no longer useful, it would be best if he returned to the United States,” he concluded.

Hearing at this, Serena’s eyes widened in amazement.

“No way, Master! You just said that Mr. Wade gave you an elixir to help you break through to the Light Realm.

But even after taking the elixir, you didn’t want to do anything in return for him.

Isn’t that like whoring yourself out for nothing?” she argued.

Master Vail’s face turned dark.

“That’s not a very nice thing to say, Serena… Girls shouldn’t use such harsh language.”

Serena spoke earnestly.

“Master, let me be honest with you.

I don’t know what kind of elixir Mr. Wade gave you or why it was so powerful that it helped you achieve the Great

Perfection of the Light Realm.

But I do know that such a potent elixir must be worth a fortune, maybe even hundreds of millions of dollars!”

Serena paused for a moment before continuing.

“So, the fact that you didn’t do anything to repay him, Master, could be seen as whoring yourself out for free… I’m

saying this because I’m your disciple, and I don’t want to be too harsh.

There are much worse things I could say.”

Master Vail’s expression twisted in anger, and he raised a hand to silence Serena.

“That’s enough, Serena.

If you don’t know how to speak properly, then it’s best if you keep quiet.”

“The truth is, I knew what I did was wrong, and I had to show my loyalty to Master Wade,” he explained, his voice

heavy with regret.

“I was the one who invited you to Aurous Hill and planned to pass on my position to you in front of Master Wade,”

he continued, waving his hand dejectedly.

“But now, we need to focus on the situation at hand and figure out how to explain things to Master Wade.”

Serena shook her head in confusion.

“Master, I still don’t understand.
