Chapter Three Hundred Five

DOMONIC

“The speedboat has been delivered, Dom,” Logan says walking inside from the front of the packhouse. | programmed her with the coordinates to one of

the small islets about fifty miles east of here that is said to be uninhabited. At least, the satellite feed says so Everything you need to set up camp and

contain Roman is on the boat

“perfect,” | say softly, dragging my eyes away from my mate who's head resting on my lap. I've been petting Draven’s tummy for the last hour and a half

She fell asleep right here on the couch next toand when she curled intoand tumbled into dreamland, | was there to catch her. | promised | would

let her know before | went anywhere, it she’s been so fired lately and she might have to settle for a note. She'll be pissed and dead set on punishing me

for it, but I just want her to rest. So when steps into the room, I relinquish him to her, letting him carry her upstairs to our bed.

is the only man | would ever allow to do so.

“Lief and I are going to catch a ride back with Garret so that we can catch our flight to New Orleans.”

1 sigh, standing up and looking toward where Quinn and Delilah are whispering in the kitchen. Catching my gaze, he reads the message in my eyes and

sendsa nod of understanding.

It’s tto put our little plan in motion and I'm only taking one man with me, despite that they all wanted to be there. With half of our pack on the

mainland and Paul heading to fucking swampville, our little army is being stretched thin. Lucky for us, has men in the shadows of Port Orchard. Trained

killers hiding out in the cut. | don't even know where they are, so there's no way any human hunters will have the drop on them.

Even so, | can only afford for two of us to go. Because there is no way in hell that | am leaving our mates vulnerable to any kind of side attack, or... God

forbid... secret plot.

a

Because if there were a secret plot, Rose would have to be behind it, and if Rose were behind something like that then...

Then nothing. You know goddamned well Draven would still protect her from you even if Rose was dirty - the beautiful little saint that she is.

BU... at the very least | might get to scare the shit out of Rose... or maybe chase her around the way tree or two, or shit a brick or three. That might be

fun.

“Okay,” | acknowledge, heading for the basement door. “Make sure nothing happens to Paul's mate. If it's true

what they're s her... she might finally have the answers we've been praying for.”

“Is that all?” Logan quips on his way out.

Glaring at him over my shoulder, | say, “Don’t piss off any witchdoctors either. Keep your dicks in your pants

while your down there, not

like last time.”

“I promised Draven I'd bring her back a Voodoo doll of your likeness,” he jokes and I flip him off.

“Stay safe, brother,” | say seriously, gesturing for Quinn to accompanydownstairs.

Logan grantsa stiff nod and a smile, then disappears out the front door, locking it behind him as he goes.

Cracking my neck, | head into the cold, dark, cellar, keeping my steps silent just for fun. When I spy Sleeping

Beauty on the table, his eyes closed and twitching with a nightmare, | can’t help but feel all tingly inside.

How precious.

“Good morning ladies!” | blare, slamming my hands down on the metal table that Ted is Hed to and ripping him

from sleep with an echoing dong. He whimpers and squeals, his eyes flying open and his hady jerking with fear.

He covers so prettily that | threw on a full fang toothed grin and lean nice and close, but | regret it the moment |

fell urine. “Holy fuck, Ted. Are you really that much of a pussy?”

*Did he just tinkle?” Quinn asks, sauntering down the stairs and into the room behind me.

“Yup, | hiss, watching the evidence flow off the edge of the aluminum orney and onto the floor. “For a tiny pickle,

that’s a whole hell of a lot of piss. That is fucking disturbing, Teddy.”

“Please!” Ted begins to beg, his eyes glassy from hours spent whining doll crying. “My father will gladly give you

anything you want! Just letgo. Please, please, please!!!”

“If he shits his pants I'm throwing him in the ocean,” Quinn mumbles, pinching his nose closed in disgust. “He

can swim home.”

| ignore Ted's incessant weeping and step past the little fuck toward the silver cell in the corner of the room.

Roman lay chained to a cold iron shelf that we had bolted into the concrete when we first built this place. He was

locked behind the skind of bars that we have in the dungeons under the sheriff station and wrapped in

chains wound tightly enough to ensure he is always sporting a healthy amount of rouge on his cheeks. Scanning

his bare right arm, | try to pick out the rise in his flesh where | know the GPS chip might have been inserted. Rose

toldthat it’s normally embedded in the ass cheek, or the soft part of the thigh, but with Roman having so

very little fat

the on him, it might have been inserted elsewhere. Somewhere along the muscle of his forearm maybe, with the

intention of having it blend with the vein. She also informedthat cutting off pieces of him would only trigger

an alarm feature and that the moment his pulse stopped, so would the transmission.

So instead of ripping him apart the way | want to, it looks like we will be going on a little boat ride together.

“Comfortable over there, sweet pea?” | coo, smirking when he snarls in my direction.

“Tell me, moon cursed, where's the Italian? Where's the Piccoli bastardo I've heard slithering around upstairs?”

A chuckle leaves my lips, my eyes lighting with delight. “Why? Are you afraid of him? Is he the one that sent you

running from your hcountry like a coward, with your tail between your legs?”

“I run from no one, kiddo. As you will soon see, pup.”

“Will 1?” | reply, getting excited. “It kinda sounds like you're threatening me, you cannibalistic rogue

shit.”

1 don’t know why I call him that. He doesn't eat his trophies, at least, not as far as I'm aware, and the rogue thing is not a big deal tobecause my

brothers and I don't operate that way. We tend to mind our business in such things, but... when your hatred for your own kind becomes a sick and twisted

disease that defiles you so thoroughly, you decide to start hunting them... well... that changes things a bit. If I'm being honest, I don't blhim for

separating himself from the kind of oppression our kind lives under in Italy. In fact, | would even admire him for it if he hadn't turned out to be a self-

loathing psychopath.

But he is, so, | don't.

“Yet you still insist you had nothing to do with the fire,” | remark, watching his eyes for any sign of dishonesty.

“If I say, yes, that | did do it, will you unchainand fightlike a wolf? Man on man? Or would you simply burnalive in this corner like the scared

little girl you are?”

My temper flares, the temperature in the room rising as Quinn and even Ted go completely silent at my back. The answer that comes is easy. “I would set

you free, take you outside, beat you like an old fur rug... tear you apart one tiny little bite at a time... and then, yeah-" I grin “-I would burn you.”

Roman chuckles darkly, his eyes sparking with madness. “Then yes. I did it. I set the fire that killed your bitch of a mother and | will light the flames that

bum through your Luna as well.”

A sudden ringing in my ears tells| am about to shift. My shirts tips down my back, my claws and fangs spearing forth as a growl froths against my lips,

but | don’t change completely. The strangely satified look in Roman's eyes keepsfrom it. However, I do roar.

the process but... because suddenly | know beyond a shadow of a doubt...
