Chapter 672 "Alright. Go ahead. I'll leave once you're asleep," Hendrix said, but Noelle didn't believe a word of it.

Still, she was too tired to argue with him at that point. So, she simply pulled the blanket over herself and turned her back to him.

She hadn't felt sleepy earlier. But after the commotion with Hendrix, exhaustion gradually crept in, and her thoughts began to scatter.

Noelle was right not to believe Hendrix's words. He had said he would leave once she fell asleep, yet when she woke up the next morning, she found him lying right beside her. Not only that, but his arm was tightly around her, too.

Furious, Noelle was about to push him off when Hendrix suddenly turned his head and coughed twice. Then, he opened his eyes and looked at her. "I think I caught your cold." Noelle froze for a moment.

Hendrix grabbed her hand and placed it on his forehead. "Here. Feel it. Do I have a fever?" Noelle took his temperature with a thermometer, and it was perfectly normal.

But Hendrix stubbornly insisted that he wasn't feeling well. He even claimed that Noelle had passed her cold to him and that he needed to stay and recover. The way he acted was a far cry from his usual dignified and aloof demeanor. If anything, he looked more like a shameless rogue.

Noelle had no choice but to call a doctor. She also planned to move to another room.

Sensing her intention, Hendrix immediately stopped her. "What are you doing?" "I'm moving to another room," Noelle replied calmly. "The doctor said we shouldn't risk cross-infecting each other." "Then, what about me?" "With so many household staff and a doctor around, do you really think they can't take care of you?" "I don't want anyone else touching me." Hendrix tightened his grip on her wrist as he spoke.

Noelle looked at him skeptically. "Honestly, you seem perfectly healthy to me. Hendrix, are you faking it?" "Of course not," Hendrix replied, furrowing his brows as he glanced at the doctor.

The doctor quickly caught on and nodded. "Mrs. Freeman, everyone's symptoms.manifest differently. Mr. Freeman has a strong immune system, so he may not show obvious signs, but we still need to monitor him closely." "Are the two of you in cahoots?" Noelle asked pointedly.

Before Hendrix could respond, the doctor shook his head emphatically. "Of course not. I'm a professional, after all, Mrs. Freeman." His tone was so earnest that Noelle couldn't argue further. She reluctantly sat back down.

"Mr. Freeman, make sure to take your medicine on tand get plenty of rest," the doctor said before quickly exiting the room.

Hendrix didn't stop him. Instead, he turned to Noelle and said, "Could you geta glass of water?" Noelle pressed her lips together and didn't move.

"I caught this from you," Hendrix added.

"I told you to sleep in the study," Noelle replied flatly.

Hendrix, however, twisted her words. "Oh, so you sentaway last night because you were worried I'd catch your cold. Is that it?"

Noelle was left momentarily speechless by his words. She stared at him in shock as in she couldn't comprehend how her words had been misinterpreted so drastically.

Hendrix acted as if he hadn't noticed her reaction. Instead, he lowered this head and let out a quiet chuckle. "I knew it. You weren't really me."

Noelle didn't answer. She simply stared at him, expressionless. That reaction alone said everything.
