Chapter 140 The Larson Corporation Investing in the Orphanage The nurse saw Molly faint and freaked out. She shoved Herbert aside and hit the nearby bell. In no time, a doctor rushed in with sgear and told everyone to clear out.

Outside the hospital room, Herbert glared at Tiffany like he wanted to strangle her. Tiffany just stared back, ice- cold, saying nothing. She and Emery kept the kids close, making sure Herbert stayed away.

Herbert's eyes landed on Flora, and for a second, he looked thrilled. He tried to casually get closer to her, but Emery blocked him and demanded, "What do you want?" "I just think she's cute. Maybe she could visit the orphanage and hang out with the other kids," Herbert said with a smile, but Tiffany wasn't buying it.

"No thanks," Tiffany shot back, stepping in front of Flora to block Herbert's view. With all the at the orphanage, its future was up in the air. Tiffany noticed Herbert didn't seem too worried about it, which made her think someone powerful was backing him. But who? Seeing Tiffany's suspicion, Herbert knew arguing was useless. He stepped aside to wait for news about Molly.

A few minutes later, the doctor and nurse cout with their equipment. Tiffany rushed over and asked, "How's Molly?" "She's in shock and needs rest," the doctor said. Herbert's face twisted into a fake concerned look as he asked, "I need to take Molly back to the orphanage. Is she seriously hurt? Can she go now?" "Take her back? Are you insane? She's unconscious and covered in wounds! She needs at least two weeks to recover," the doctor snapped, clearly annoyed.

Emery laughed sarcastically and said, "Yeah, such bad injuries at her age, and she's from the orphanage. What happened there? Did Mr. Scott hit her?" Everyone's eyes turned to Herbert, who started sweating bullets. The doctor and nurse stared him down. If word got out about child abuse at the orphanage, it would spark an investigation, and a lot of dirty secrets would cout.

Trying to avoid trouble, Herbert quickly said, "Molly's injuries have nothing to do with the orphanage. She often runs away and comes back hurt. This time, she got into an accident." Herbert's explanation sounded sincere, and the doctor didn't push further but warned him not to take Molly away. Herbert had no choice but to agree.

As soon as the doctor left, Herbert tried to barge into the room, but Emery blocked the door. "Did you forget what the doctor said? Molly needs rest. She fainted when she saw you. Do you want to scare her again?" Just a heads up: is the only place to read the complete version of this book for free. Don't miss out on the next chapter-visit us now and continue your journey! Herbert hesitated, knowing that forcing his way in would only make things worse. He decided to wait until Molly was better. "I'll cback when she's feeling better," he said with a forced smile and left, glancing back uneasily.

Inside the room, Flora ran to Molly's bedside and whispered, "Molly, wake up. The doctor and nurse are gone, and so is that bad man." Molly opened her eyes and, seeing Tiffany and the others, began to cry. "I don't want to go back to the orphanage. Please don't let Mr. Scott take me." Molly knew Herbert would try to take her from the hospital, but she was terrified of returning to the orphanage. That place scared her.

Hearing Molly's tearful plea, Tiffany's heart ached. She sat beside Molly, gently holding her hand. "Don't worry. We won't let him take you. We'll take care of you." Molly was overwhelmed with gratitude and hugged Tiffany, crying loudly. It was the first tanyone had offered to help her since Herbert took her to the orphanage. She had tried to run away twice before, but no one believed her, and Herbert always found her, making up excuses to convince others she was lying. But Tiffany and the others were different. Molly felt safe in Tiffany's arms.

Suddenly, the door burst open.

Sophia entered, pulling Steven along.

Seeing the touching scene, she smiled apologetically. "Sorry to interrupt, but I found out something about the orphanage."

Sophia pushed Steven forward, signaling him to speak. "The orphanage is involved in snasty business and I think Miss Grey will be very interested in who's behind it," Steven began, only to be smacked on the head by Sophia. "Stop being mysterious and just tell us," she urged.

"Alright," Steven said, rubbing his head. He looked at Tiffany and continued, "It's the Larson Corporation." "What?" Tiffany stood up, shocked.

"They've been secretly funding the orphanage and using it for illegal activities. The children are used as blood donors for wealthy clients with strange tastes. The orphanage has been operating for nearly two years, flying under the radar because of its small size. I was shocked when I found out," Steven explained, shaking his head. Tiffany remembered that the Larson Corporation had been rising rapidly in the past two years.
