Chapter 147 Disorders of Memory The masked doctor, realizing he was busted, dropped the act. While Tiffany was distracted, he whipped out a spray bottle from his pocket and spritzed it right in her face.

As the gas hit her, Tiffany's vision went fuzzy, and her body started to feel like jelly.

She didn't even have tto yell for help before her legs gave out, and she crumpled to the floor, unable to make a sound.

He pulled a fishing line from his pocket, his face dark and menacing, and slowly approached Tiffany. Another flash of lightning outside masked the faint sounds in the hospital room.

Tiffany tried to crawl towards the door, but he grabbed her foot and dragged her back. "Blyourself for crossing the wrong people. Now I have to send you to hell." With that, he looped the fishing line around Tiffany's neck. Her legs began to thrash, and she clawed at his wrists, but she was too weak. The line tightened, and Tiffany struggled to breathe, feeling herself slipping away.

"Let... letgo." Her voice was faint, and she was on the verge of passing out. He tightened his grip, determined to finish her off quickly.

At this rate, it wouldn't be long before Tiffany suffocated.

Was she really going to die here? No! Tiffany thought of the kids, Sophia, and Emery-they were all in the next room. She couldn't die and leave them worried.

And Leon hadn't woken up yet. She had to wait for him to wake up so they could be reunited as a family! Tiffany bit her lip hard, trying to stay conscious.

But the spray had sapped all her strength, and she couldn't fight back.

If no one cin, Tiffany would be strangled to death.

But she didn't have tto think about that. This man was determined to kill her and wouldn't let her go easily. Her vision started to fade, and she was about to lose consciousness.

What should she do...

Was there anyone... who could save her? Just as Tiffany was about to pass out, she heard a scream from behind her, and the fishing line fell from her neck. She could finally gasp for air.

She thought it was the bodyguards outside who had noticed something was wrong, but the position was off. This person was facing the bed; the bodyguards couldn't have cfrom there.

Tiffany turned her head with effort, and just as she thought, Leon, dressed in a hospital gown, was standing behind her.

Tears welled up in Tiffany's eyes, and she felt a surge of joy.

Leon was awake.

He was finally awake.

The man's scream had drawn the bodyguards' attention, and they rushed in. First, they saw the awakened Leon, then the injured Tiffany on the floor, and finally the assassin, their eyes wide with shock.

Leon had dislocated the assassin's arm, and he was now lying on the ground, wailing.

"Take him away," Leon ordered coldly, and the bodyguards quickly carried the assassin out.

The room was left with just Tiffany and Leon.

Tiffany's neck was still bleeding, and she couldn't make a sound. She looked at Leon with hopeful eyes.

She thought Leon would have a lot to say to her now that he was awake.

But that wasn't the case.

Leon looked at Tiffany with disgust and distance.

This wasn't the Leon who had fallen from the rooftop that day.

He shouldn't have that look in his eyes.

Just as Tiffany was about to ask, she fainted in front of Leon.

She knew nothing of what happened next.

The next day.

Tiffany woke up from a nightmare.

She felt the pain in her neck and reached up to touch it, finding several layers of bandages.

But as soon as she got out of bed, the door opened.

Tiffany looked over expectantly, but it wasn't Leon who entered-it was Ronald. Seeing Tiffany awake, Ronald's brow relaxed, and he let out a sigh of relief.

He walked over to the bedside, taking Tiffany's hand, a hint of sadness in his eyes.

"Grandpa, how's Leon?" Tiffany asked eagerly, not noticing Ronald's strange expression.

She recalled Leon's look from the night before and felt a twinge of unease.

"Tiffany, Leon's memory... is messed up." Ronald spoke gently, but the meaning was clear. Leon's memory of Tiffany was clearly affected. Tiffany's heart trembled, and she looked at Ronald in confusion.

"Grandpa, what happened?" Ronald sighed, leaning on his cane, and patiently explained Leon's situation to Tiffany.

"After Leon woke up, he had a check-up. Everything was fine, but when I asked him about you, he becunusually angry. He said you used hypnosis on him to get pregnant with his child, then waited until the child grew up to return, all to get his attention and the Cooper Family's fortune..." Hearing Ronald's words, Tiffany understood where Leon's memory had gone wrong.

A while back, Leon had mistaken Bronte for someone else. To keep Leon from knowing she was the woman from five years ago, Tiffany had lied, saying she had hypnotized him to get pregnant.

But later, when Leon found out the woman in the car five years ago was Tiffany, he also learned the hypnosis story was a lie.

Who knew things would get this out of control? Leon mistakenly believed that night five years ago, Tiffany had hypnotized him on purpose to get pregnant.

So now, in Leon's mind, Tiffany was someone who would stop at nothing to achieve her goals.

Hearing Ronald's explanation, Tiffany couldn't help but feel heartbroken.

Leon had promised to be with her and make it up to her.

Just a heads up: is the only place to read the complete version of this book for free. Don't miss out on the next chapter-visit us now and continue your journey! But what was this now? The worst part was that Tiffany couldn't blhim. Leon's memory loss was due to his fall while saving Flora.

Tiffany lowered her head, her heart aching, struggling to breathe.

"Tiffany, don't overthink it. The doctor said Leon is recovering quickly. It's just his memory... it might take stime. Everything else is fine. He'll remember eventually." Ronald patted Tiffany's shoulder, his words full of concern.

"I had someone investigate. The assassin from yesterday was sent by the Larson family. They must hold a grudge against you and want you dead. The orphanage incident is now widely known, and the Larson family members were taken to the police station for investigation this morning.

There will be results soon." Ronald looked at Tiffany's neck wound with pity and sighed again.

Tiffany forced a smile, but it was strained. She didn't want Ronald to worry, so she pretended not to care.

"Grandpa, I'm really fine. It's good that Leon is awake. As for his memory, we'll take it slow." Ronald was relieved to see Tiffany's positive attitude and gave her a few more words of advice.

"The doctor said your wound is deep. You should talk less and stay calm. Tiffany, get srest. I'll bring the kids to see you later." "Okay, thank you, Grandpa." Tiffany smiled faintly and saw Ronald out.

But as soon as he left, tears filled her eyes, and she couldn't hold them back any longer, crying silently.

She had waited so long, hoped for so long.

But why did it turn out like this? Leon remembered everyone else, but his memory of her was wrong. Why? Tiffany couldn't accept it. She covered her face and cried, unable to hide her pain.

She cried for a full hour, her eyes red and swollen.

After thinking for a long time, she decided to see Leon herself. Maybe if she talked to him, the misunderstanding could be cleared up. Just as she was about to leave, the door opened, and a teasing voice cthrough.

"Tiffany, I told you Leon's feelings for you were unreliable. Why don't you ctoinstead?"
