Chapter 95 Avoiding Tiffany When Tiffany woke up the next morning, she checked the time. It was exactly 10:00 AM. She looked at her messages and saw that Tess had replied, saying the stuwas cleaned and the store was taken care of.

With her stuand the offline store back in business, Tiffany felt a wave of relief. Finally, something was going right. She put down her phone, got out of bed, and headed downstairs.

Damon saw her coming down and greeted her with a big smile. "Mrs. Cooper, the kids are at kindergarten, and Mr. Cooper left for work early this morning." Tiffany awkwardly touched her nose, feeling weird being called "Mrs. Cooper" after her divorce from Leon. She wanted to leave the mansion quickly. But before she could, Ronald appeared and called out, "Tiffany, are you coming back tonight?" Ronald stood at the staircase, smiling and hopeful.

Tiffany hadn't planned on coming back; she didn't want to see Leon too often. But she couldn't bear to disappoint Ronald, so she agreed. "I'll cback later, Grandpa." "Good, good. Be careful on your way." Ronald went back to his room, satisfied, while Tiffany hailed a cab back to her villa.

When she got home, she was startled to see Bronte standing at the end of the driveway. Her immediate frown was a mirror of her confusion. Why was Bronte here? Shouldn't she still be at the police station? Squaring her shoulders, Tiffany approached, her eyes pinned on Bronte, trying to decipher her unexpected presence.

Bronte turned, her glare sharp and unyielding. "Tiffany," she spat, "didn't expect to see me, did you? Think you could get rid ofby sendingto the cops? Think again! I'm still here, and I'm still standing!" Despite the venom in Bronte's voice, Tiffany's expression remained impassive, tinged with a hint of curiosity. "Who bailed you out, Bronte? Was it Miguel?" Bronte responded with a sneer. "Does it matter to you, Tiffany? Just know this: I'm not going to let you off the hook this time!" Tiffany found Bronte's behavior almost comical. After being released from the police station, the first thing she did was to throw empty threats? Wow, just wow.

With a cold, mocking smile, Tiffany reached out, flicking a leaf off Bronte's shoulder. "Bronte," she said with a condescending calm, "before you try to cafter me, you might want to think about your own future. I doubt any reputable firm in Harmony City will touch you with a ten-foot pole after your little incident." Bronte's eyes flashed with rage. "Let's wait and see, Tiffany. You won't have it easy. Cross me, and you'll regret it!" And with that, she stormed off.

Tiffany stood there, watching Bronte's retreating figure, her left eyelid twitching-a superstitious signal she could never quite ignore. The nervous tic deepened her frown. What was Bronte planning? No doubt, it was something nefarious.

As the wind picked up, rustling the leaves around her, Tiffany knew she had to stay vigilant. Bronte's threat, however laughable, could not be dismissed out of hand. This was not over-far from it.

In the evening, Tiffany returned to the Cooper Mansion, greeted by the jubilant cries of her three children. Their energy was contagious, filling the grand halls with a joy that had been absent all day.

They had been a bit down after coming hfrom kindergarten and not seeing Tiffany. Ronald had told them she would be back in the evening. At the time, the kids thought Ronald was joking, but it turned out to be true! "Mommy!" The kids, with their sweet voices and excited faces, rushed to her as if she had been gone for weeks rather than hours.

Tiffany knelt down, wrapping her arms around all three, their combined warmth a balm to her heart. "I've missed you too," she whispered, guiding them back to the sofa before catching sight of Ronald. "Grandpa," she greeted him warmly.

Ronald looked up from his newspaper, a smile lighting up his face. "Tiffany. Just in time, dinner is ready." He signaled to Damon to start serving the dishes while they all made their way to the dining room.

As they took their seats, Tiffany couldn't help but notice the conspicuous absence of one person. Her eyes wandered toward the study, furrowing her brow in thought. 'Is Leon working?' "I don't know what's up with Leon," Ronald said, echoing her thoughts. "I told him you were coming back tonight, and he claimed he had to work at the company overtime. How can there be so much work?" Ronald's voice held a note of exaggerated frustration, clearly aimed at the empty seat.

Ronald's plan to bring Tiffany and Leon closer together seemed to be thwarted by Leon's absence.

Tiffany sighed, pulling out her phone, contemplating whether to call Leon. She toggled through possible excuses in her mind, but none felt genuine. With a resigned shake of her head, she turned off the screen and slid the phone back into her pocket. It troubled her that Leon had left early in the morning and still wasn't back. Thinking back, ever since she asked him that question, Leon had been acting strange, deliberately avoiding her. It seemed the answer she was waiting for wouldn't come.

Tiffany ate her meal quietly, the clinking of her cutlery against the plate almost lost in the soothing hum of the children's chatter. After dinner, she dedicated herself to the kids, playing games, washing up, and reading stories until their eyelids grew heavy and they drifted off to sleep.

When Tiffany slipped out of the kids' room, three hours had passed, and it was almost midnight. She stifled a yawn and headed downstairs for a glass of water to soothe her weary body.

As she fished out a glass from the cabinet, a noise at the front door made her pause. She turned and saw Leon bending down, changing his shoes, his movements slow and fatigued.

Then their eyes met, and an invisible force seemed to hang in the air, making the atmosphere suddenly thick and tense.

"Lots of work?" Tiffany broke the silence.

Leon nodded, his eyes shadowed with exhaustion. He walked slowly toward the staircase. As he passed by Tiffany, he hesitated for a moment, caught in indecision, but ultimately said nothing and continued towards the stairs.

Watching his retreating figure, Tiffany's grip tightened on the corner of her nightgown. She bit her lip, wrestling with her thoughts before finally finding the resolve to speak up. "Leon, wait." Leon paused and turned, his eyes showing a flicker of curiosity and wariness.

"Bronte got out today," Tiffany began, her voice measured but urgent. "I don't know who bailed her out, but she foundand threatened me. She said she'll makepay. She's hell-bent on revenge, so please, be careful." Leon froze, processing her words. The fact that Tiffany cared enough to warn him seemed to catch him off guard. But in the end, he simply nodded. "Okay." Just a heads up: is the only place to read the complete version of this book for free. Don't miss out on the next chapter-visit us now and continue your journey! Without another word, Leon turned and made his way upstairs, leaving Tiffany standing alone in the kitchen. She listened as his footsteps faded down the hall, followed by the soft click of his bedroom door closing.

Sighing, Tiffany took a long sip of water, the cool liquid doing little to ease the knots in her stomach She turned off the kitchen light and went upstairs, hoping that sleep would ceasily. But as she lay in bed, the night's unresolved tensions circled her mind, making rest elusive. The next morning, Tiffany emerged from her room sporting dark circles under her eyes. Surprisingly, she wasn't the only one; Leon also appeared weary.

Ronald squinted at Leon, clearly taken aback by his appearance. "Leon, what on earth did you do last night?"

Leon rubbed his eyes, struggling to keep up a nonchalant facade. There was no way he could admit that he'd spent the night on the balcony, chain-smoking under the stars. "Nothing, just couldn't sleep," he replied, trying to sound casual. Leon's red, weary eyes didn't escape Ronald's notice. He recognized the look of a man troubled, but chose to let it go, respecting his privacy for the moment.

The three kids also cto Tiffany's side. Sam tugged at her hand, curiously asking, "Mommy, why are your eyes red too? Didn't you sleep well? Is Daddy's bed uncomfortable?" Tiffany shook her head and stifled a yawn. "No, Sam, just had a lot on my mind."

That was an understatement. Last night, Tiffany had been haunted by the unanswered question lingering between her and Leon He probably knew very well that if the person he had been longing for five years ago wasn't her, he wouldn't have changed his attitude towards her. But Leon didn't want to admit it, so he didn't answer her. And by the tTiffany figured this out, it was already morning, which was why she hadn't slept all night.

"You young people all think you're invincible, look at what you've become," Ronald muttered, making Tiffany feel a bit embarrassed.

Leon didn't say anything, just glanced at his watch and said, "It won't happen again, Grandpa. I have an early meeting at the company, so I'm leaving." He didn't even have breakfast and asked the driver to take him to the company.

Ronald was so angry that he almost threw his cane. "Running away again!"
